01. Introducing the Living Your Design Podcast
In this episode, Kelsey talks about how she came to the decision to release her Living Your Design course as a free podcast offering. As an Emotional Manifestor, this initiation was a long time in the making. These lectures were created while the foundational aspects of Human Design were alive within Kelsey. Her unique transmission of Human Design has led to profound shifts and transformations within her students, which is why she's excited to share this with a wider audience.

Here on the Living Year Design podcast, I'm releasing the audio from the entire course for free. I originally recorded these lectures for my second live cohort of LYD students in 2023, and these lectures have been the basis of the curriculum for all of my human design students since then. I have been sitting with this [00:01:00] idea to release the audio from my course.
For a while, maybe close to a year at this point, and I'm gonna share just a little bit of context around how I arrived here, as well as some notes to help clarify what it is you're going to be listening to in all subsequent episodes of the LYD podcast after this one. So, to start with a little bit of the story of how I got here.
Like I said, I've been toying with feeling into this idea of taking my LYD course and just releasing it into the world more freely, but also specifically in a way that has a lower access point to me personally. Been sitting with that for a while and it's connected to some bigger stuff that I've been sitting with for even longer.

Jessareed.com/:And so I'm starting to focus my attention on either teaching more advanced topics within human design and also, and or either also working with people who have already assimilated this foundational knowledge in a very intense and radical way to create art, to explore new ways of being in community and being in creation together.
around if or how I will ever [:Part of the reason that I kept circulating back with my emotional authority, that I kept kind of like feeling back around to wanting to just have a place where people could tap into my, my Living Your Design curriculum for free, through my voice, my transmission of it, is because I want there to be more high quality and thorough, and radical and honest, and really embodied foundational information about human design out there in my corner of the internet or in the corner of the internet that I inhabit.
of humility, surrender, and [:A lot of it is like very distorted by the ego mind. I don't necessarily think there "should" be really there like needs to be or should quotation marks around should. Anytime I use the word should, there's always quotations, marks around it. I don't think that there necessarily has to be or should be like free access to the course because the people teaching this course deserve to be paid.
of knowledge, but I want my [:I want people who would resonate with my voice, my expression of it, which I am proud of, and I do believe in. I want people to have access to that, and so I'm just experimenting. Well, and also I guess I wanna name that I'm also wanting to experiment with being more generous. Less guarded with my own work and voice.
For the past several years, it's felt very comfortable and safe and aligned for me to kind of keep my transmission of human design behind a paywall and keep access to me behind a paywall, which that piece, I guess I still kind of am going to do because the podcast itself doesn't give you access to me in real time.

And part of this like experiment in open-heartedness and less guardedness and generosity with my work includes my experience of knowing that there's gonna be people out there listening to something that I don't think is perfect.
for public consumption, and [:Yeah, there's certain times I like listen to it and cringe a little bit. The way that I use the word orient or orientation, an average of like three times per sentence, and more often than not, my sentence structure is completely sacrificed in favor of stream of conscious, flow. And some of my understandings and opinions about these fundamentals in human design have evolved in the years since I first recorded these lectures.

But first, I wanna deliver a few notes. It'll help to clarify and contextualize some of what you'll hear in the remaining episodes of the LYD podcast.
he course and was recorded in:Sometimes I read directly from a [00:14:00] slide or reference a section of bullet points or a section of something visual, and it might not make perfect sense with the audio only. I think there are moments where it's gonna feel unclear and disjointed. There's also times when I mention course units, I'll say, "in this unit," and I'm not referring necessarily to this episode, and I don't, it doesn't really get clarified in the audio exactly what point I'm talking about.
So in other words, the way that the episodes are laid out on the podcast don't correspond perfectly to the way that the course is being delivered in the original curriculum. So just wanna like, give you a heads up that there are, there gonna be moments probably where things don't feel super clear in that way.
